Coroner: season 1

Jenny Cooper, formerly an Emergency Room physician, takes a job in Toronto as Coroner. As she investigates unexplained and unnatural deaths, Jenny butts heads with the Chief Pathologist and Homicide cops, including the charismatic Detective Donovan McAvoy. Jenny's unwavering determination to uncover the truth is an asset as she investigates suspicious deaths, even if her inclination to dig further into cases irritates her superiors. Jenny works tirelessly to speak for the dead, pushing everything to the limit to get justice. Away from work, Jenny's personal life is a crazy chaotic mess. She struggles with intense anxiety while dealing with widowhood and her teenage son, Ross, who is still grieving the death of his father. She is also facing a new, perplexing relationship with her neighbour, Liam. But as coroner, Jenny Cooper is singular in purpose: speaking for the dead -- those that can no longer speak for themselves.
