Secrets to the grave
(Large Print)
The crimes are unspeakable, the secrets unfathomable -- and the only witness is a child. Marissa Fordham had a past full of secrets and a present full of lies. Everyone knew of her -- but no one really knew her. So when Marissa is found brutally murdered with her young daughter, Haley, watching over her mother's body, the idyllic town of Oak Knoll goes into a tailspin. Authorities may not have found them for days had it not been for the 911 call, and a small child's voice saying, "My daddy hurt my mommy."
Detective Tony Mendez is working on a puzzle in which none of the pieces fit. He calls in child advocate Anne Leone to work with his only witness, Haley. As Tony and Anne begin to peel back the layers of Marissa Fordham's life, they find small clues. And just as it seems Marissa has taken her secrets to the grave, they uncover a secret that puts them in the sights of a killer. Marissa Fordham never existed . . .
